Why an AED matters at school
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone – a pupil during a PE lesson, a teacher or a parent at a school event. With every minute without defibrillation, the chance of survival falls by around 10%. A defibrillator at school makes it possible to help in the very first minutes, before the ambulance arrives.
Which defibrillator to choose for a school
- Automatic mode – the device delivers the shock by itself, so there is no hesitation in a stressful situation.
- Child mode – the iPAD CU-SP1 can be set to child mode by default; all our models have a child mode or paediatric pads with reduced energy.
- Prompts in Latvian or Estonian – clear steps for any user.
- Cabinet with alarm – protects the device in corridors and sports halls.
For schools we most often recommend the iPAD CU-SP1 – fully automatic, simple, with child mode by default and a carry bag. If you would like a colour screen with animations – the Primedic HeartSave YA with colour screen.

Frequently asked questions
Can a pupil use an AED?
An AED is designed to be used by anyone – the device analyses the heart rhythm itself and delivers a shock only when one is needed.
Do you prepare quotes for public procurement?
Yes, we prepare quotes with technical specifications for municipalities and educational institutions.
Where should the AED be placed in a school?
Usually near the sports hall or in the central corridor, so that it can be brought to any part of the school within 5 minutes.
